Our history goes like this:
Thomas Burke Buchanan and wife, Lucille P. Buchanan, furnished all the equipment and its installation to begin this local radio station. WDSG is in downtown Sanford at 207 Gordon Street . The purpose and goal of WDSG is to promote Sanford , Lee County and surrounding areas, the people and businesses, and to give the community a locally owned Christian FM radio station that plays a variety of music, and one that would bring local news and air great music.
WDSG stands for We Do Sanford Good and is at the very top of the FM dial 107.9 in Sanford , Southern Lee and Tramway. On the air 24/7, WDSG features programming to include gospel musce,easy listening/big band music from the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s and now great beach music with the Saturday Evening Sea Cruise with Chip Edwards and Kipper Daniels. In addition, local news, public service announcements, guest interviews and telephone call-ins comprise the programs offered.
The Saturday Evening Sea Cruise with Chip Edwards and Kipper Daniels airs every Saturday from 1 pm -12 am, playing those classic beach hits from the generation of shag around North Myrtle Beach, along, with the current releases being played around the Grand Strand. Tune in as this is a special treat for our listeners. During the week Monday-Friday 3pm - 10pm listeners will hear the sweet sounds of Carolina Beach Music and Sunday from 1 pm - 12 am.
